1970s
John Poh, an avid-traveller with a keend mind for adventure and entrepreneurship opened the first travel retail store in Singapore specializing in travel gear.
1980s
With over 15 travel luggage retail stores, John ventured into a new territory of offering active lifestyle and fashion brands under Universal Traveller group of companies.
1990s
With the overwhelming response of travel demand, John expanded regionally and marked his first retail footprint in Malaysia's first premier fashion shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur. This further strengthened its position throughout the years as a fore-runner in travel gear selection.
2000s
Embracing the accelerated growth of the worldwide travel industry in the new millennium, the company expanded its winter wear collection with the best selection of materials, functionality and style. Universal Traveller pledges to keep you warm with the highest down content of 90% down and 10% feathers in all of its range of down parka jackets. With top industry professionals joining the team, it ignited the company's growth and rapid expansion by sharpening their strategy into four pillars based on clients' needs.
2010
Universal Traveller marks 20 triumphant years in the industry leading with more than 30 retail concept stores in South East Asia. Celebrating the company's 20th anniversary, Universal Traveller introduces the new Heat Seal technology to its down parka jacket selections. Heat Seal technology is a stitch-free technology which eliminates stitches that keep the feathers secured in the fabric while keeping the chill out.
2013
Universal Traveller expanded to Indonesia capturing the hearts of the largest country population in South East Asia, establishing itself as a leading winter wear player.
2015
Universal Traveller researched and developed the Ultra Warm Heatplus technology that helps regulate body heat against extreme temperature fluctuation with breathable fabric that allows air circulation in our thermal wear selections.
2016
Universal Traveller achieved a total digital transformation debuting its own E-commerce website as a powerful tool to attract more customers, build strong brand loyalty, and increase brand reach to inaccessible locations.
2017
Universal Traveller continues to innovate and improve on more functional lighter-weight, and better down quality for varied climates. All jackets go through an extreme temperature high-intensity usage testing control before making it available to our community.

In the face of the unprecedented challenges posed by the 2020 pandemic, Universal Traveller weathered the pandemic storm with unwavering determination. Despite the hardships, we persevered, making our presence felt with consistent awareness campaigns.

As the world adapted to the new normal in 2021, we seamlessly adjusted our strategies, emerging as the undisputed online leader in luggage. Our resilience and agility remains unshaken, solidifying our position as a dominant force in the industry, while also maintaining our top ranking in the travel & luggage category.
2022
As the world recovers from the pandemic, Universal Traveller is once again reconnected with travellers as the brand of choice with a strong renewed interest in travel. We also celebrated our re-emergence with an intimate capsule collection launch, the Aurora 22/23 collection, receiving overwhelming positive feedback from customers and the media. To end the year, UT achieved a breakthrough collaboration with the Switzerland Tourism Board, expanding our horizons and reaffirming our commitment to exceptional travel experiences.

SORONA® is a high performance plant based sustainable polymer fabric. SILVADUR™ an antimicrobial technology that offers unmatched freshness and limits bacteria. TEFLON™ is a water and stain resistant fabric protector but yet ensures breathability.
