Melbourne has a way of pulling you in. Bold, creative and full of character, it’s a city where great coffee, incredible food, culture and style seem to meet around every corner. And when you’re ready to venture beyond the city, a whole different side of Victoria awaits, from rolling vineyards and dramatic coastlines to snow-covered alpine escapes.
There’s something about winter that makes you want to pack your bags, layer up and go somewhere new.
This time, we’re heading to Melbourne, Victoria!
Together with Visit Victoria, Universal Traveller is setting off on a 6-day, 5-night winter adventure through Melbourne and regional Victoria, and we’re bringing along a group of travellers who each have their own way of seeing the world.
From wandering Melbourne’s iconic city streets to alpine magic at Mt Buller and escaping into the picturesque Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula, it’s going to be six days filled with culinary delights, adventure, new experiences and plenty of stories along the way.

Mt Buller
Bundle up in layers and take a trip to the Victorian Snowfields! Experience the magical snowcapped alpines of Mt Buller, and while you're at it, try out snowshoeing and toboganning, or meet the friendly huskies that will melt your heart. For adventure-seekers, ski or snowboard down the slopes to see the resort from a new point of view.
Yarra Valley
Visit the home of Victorian wine upclose, just an hour's drive from Melbourne. Sip and savour Victoria's best while watching stunning vistas of rolling hills and vineyards. It's also a popular lookout destination for hot air ballooning and Puffing Billy, Australia's oldest steam train.
Mornington Peninsula
Wind down with the rejuvenating and healing waters of Mornington Peninsula's natural hot springs and spa. The tranquil sanctuary will be sure to lull you with the peaceful panoramas of the peninsula as a backdrop of its wellness experiences.

Day 1: Hello, Melbourne City!
Melbourne's vibrant energy radiates, from the city's Victorian architecture to its celebrated laneways, alive with street art and hidden cafes. Savour the local flavours at South Melbourne Market, where fresh local produce, artisan delicacies and a perfectly brewed cuppa await. Of course, a trip to the Melbourne wouldn't be complete without a photography stop at the ever-stunning Brighton Beach Bathing Boxes.
Day 2: Mt Buller
Experience the thrill of Victoria Snowfields' alpine wonderland, where snow-covered peaks, downhill ski slopes, and exhilarating snowboarding adventures create the perfect winter escape.
Day 3: Snowy day vibes in Mt Buller
From first-time learners to seasoned enthusiasts, the region offers myriad of experiences both on and off the slopes. Don't miss the opportunity to take a selfie with the adorable huskies too!
Day 4: Yarra Valley
Craft your own chocolate lollipop at The Chocolateries, ride the iconic Puffing Billy Railway through lush forests, and spot kangaroos in the wild from your accommodation. As night falls, gaze skyward and, if you're lucky, you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking beauty of the Milky Way under a blanket of stars.
Day 5: Mornington Peninsula
Ready for another adventure? See Melbourne, Victoria from a different point of view with a visit to the stunning Pt. Leo Estate Sculpture Park, where art meets nature, followed by a wine tasting experience at the estate, and an elevated dining journey aboard Arthurs Seat Eagle, where stunning coastal vistas await. Oh, have we also mentioned that Mornington Peninsula is home to natural hot springs and spa? Unwind and rejuvenate in the therapeutic waters of the Peninsula Hot Springs before you head back!
